Precision Pest Monitoring Specialists

Helping professionals reduce pesticide use through intelligent monitoring, trapping and pheromone technology.

Trusted by pest controllers, museums, food manufacturers, horticulture and agriculture across the UK.

Sentomol is primarily a supplier of pest management solutions that use pheromones, insect attractants and associated traps to detect and manage pests, together with a limited range biological and other biocidal solutions to manage them.

Modern pest management is heavily influenced by the desire to reduce pesticides, in the home or in professional life. There is a drive and desire to reduce risk, minimise exposure and limit residues in the environment around us and in the food we eat.  The scrutiny of regulators, has over the years, gradually limited the portfolio of products available to both professional pest controllers and home users, removing older chemistry and introducing newer and often more targeted alternatives. The challenge remains in how to best mange insect pest problems with the tools we have available.

Integrated pest management, or IPM, is a way or working that seeks to manage pests in any situation, where pesticide use is considered a last resort. Solutions start with improved housekeeping or preventative maintenance, continue with better monitoring and understanding of pest behaviour, and concluding with an acceptance that not all pests can be eliminated and that managing insects at a low number is often the best solution that can be achieved.

Insect pheromones and traps have an established place in modern pest management, whether in crop production, storage or consumption, in meeting these demands. These are vital tools in an IPM approach to insect problems.
